We have owned, exhibited and bred Newfoundlands since 1999, when we got our first puppy from Debra Wigal of Top Shelf Newfoundlands. Duncan was a great friend and I finished him myself, though perhaps not in the greatest style! We also got Toby, Ch. Top Shelf’s Toby of Water’s Edge from Top Shelf the following year and I showed him as well, though he was finished to his Championship by professional handlers. Our first bitch was the lovely Ch. Nakiska’s Nell of Water’s Edge, who became a Register of Merit winner based solely on her own and the accomplishments of our first litter out of Nell and Ch. Top Shelf’s Black Russian, Russell.
We have attended many regional and national specialties with our dogs and show on a regular basis in the Midwest. We are committed to testing for health clearances and are members of and actively volunteer with the National and Regional Clubs of the Newfoundland Club of America.
Through the years we have developed a liking for Landseer (white and black) Newfoundlands in addition to the traditional black and hope to breed both colors going forward. We enjoy meeting people who love Newfoundlands and hope to continue breeding well into the future.
